In the the early 20th century coffee was shipped from India to Europe by going around the Cape of Good Hope. The coffee were weathered, giving them a distinctive "Malabar" flavor.

Today, to duplicate the effect, the beans are stored in special warehouses that are opened during monsoon season exposing them to the moist air—a 12-16 month process.

This is an excellent, aromatic Rain Forest Alliance Coffee. It is high grown at an elevation of about 5500 feet in San Ignacio de Acosta of Costa Rica's Central Valley.

Dotted with volcanoes & surrounded by rainforest, this area of Costa Rica is well known for its stunning landscapes and perfect climate for growing coffee. It is the oldest growing region in the country.

Bright with hints of citrus and dark chocolate

Established in 1911 by Don Juan Pohlenz, Finca Custapec was the first coffee plantation in the Custapec area of Chiapas, Mexico.

The coffee is grown at elevations up to 5100 feet under a lush canopy of shade providing habitat for dozens of species of birds. Half the estate is covered by untouched rain forest with trees reaching heights of up to 200 feet.

Located in the Western Highlands of the Wahgi Valley, the Kimel Plantation is cooperatively owned by members of the Opai Tribe.

Consisting of about 1500 acres, the farm provides housing for the workers, schooling for the children and medical facilities. Situated in a cloud forest at elevations over 5200 feet, this area is known to produce the finest coffee in Papua New Guinea.
